Apa Palang la Yasi Once upon a time a sweet girl named Yasi lived with her two loving brothers, but their happy life was interrupted when their precious supply of salt ran out, forcing the brothers to set off on long and difficult journey to Tibet (Nyime Nyoku) to trade for more. Before leaving, they lit a bright fire and gave Yasi a very important rule: keep the hearth fire burning and never, ever go near the home of ‘Apa Palang’, a big, scary, and hungry monster who lived nearby. Though Yaasi was careful at first, she eventually grew lonely and bored, so she stepped outside to play, and in her absence, the hearth fire sadly flickered and died.
